Halloumi factory closed

HALLOUMI infected with the staphylococcus bacteria was found at a Limassol district village manufacturing company.

The state health services found the cheese that was unsuitable for consumption at ‘Niki Michael’ manufacturers located in Prastio Avdimou. Following the find, the company’s operations were suspended for two days.

The Health Services said they had located the cheese following a food poisoning complaint from a consumer. It was tested and found to be infected with the bacteria.
The manufacturer told the Health Services the affected batches were given exclusively to ‘Miniway’ restaurant in Pissouri.

The Health Services said that anyone who might be in possession of any of the halloumi to avoid its consumption.
