All the body milks mentioned here are light, oil in water emulsions, so are rather similar in their action, feel and result. If you prefer a greasier or shiny finish most brands do have that in their range too.
 
Korres Vanilla Cinnamon

I loved using this light, yet very hydrating, skin-friendly formulation. It glides onto skin very smoothly and has a comforting fragrance that smells good enough to eat. Its excellent blend of emollients effectively moisturises even very dry areas such as hands and feet. Ingredients include jojoba oil, vitamins C and E, zinc and antioxidants. A high-quality product that I found myself constantly seeking to apply to my troublesome dry hands. Skin hydration lasted for hours.

L’Occitane Lait D’Ambre

This one is a real girly treat, with its old-world bottle shape and amber fragrance that reminds one of the decadence of a bygone era. Richer than the other lotions, but not greasy, simply a great moisturiser that’s perfect for normal to dry or dry skins. Rich in shea butter, which explains its excellent texture and nourishing effect. I loved this one too and got an extra winning feeling when I noticed the subtle gold irridescent effect on my arms.
Best feature: silky look and feel on skin.

Crabtree and Evelyn Botanical Body Lotion

This one is free from parabens, mineral oil propylene glycol and silicone, which has to be a good thing. It has an agreeable, fresh, mild watermelon-like smell. This lotion has a thicker texture although once applied and rubbed in, disappears into the skin with a dry matt finish. This one is for dry skin but Crabtree & Evelyn also have one for normal to oily skin and one to revitalise & firm skin in this range.

Body Farm Body Milk Ginger

One of several from a collection with lots of other fragrances ranging from melon to sandalwood to mango! This lotion is ever so light and water based, so provides mild hydration for normal to oilier skins. The texture as well as the fragrance is very refreshing. I really liked the smell of this and felt like I had applied a cooling trendy cologne to my body in the form of a light milky gel. Matching shower gels and body scrubs available.

Rosveda

This one is free from petrochemicals and is based on a very natural Ayurvedic recipe, consisting largely of pure Aloe Vera and honey. A very pleasant and light texture that soothes and cools sensitised or sunbaked skins, suits most skin types and does not feel hot or sticky even in hot weather, something that is quite rare with most lotions. Must be the natural Aloe Vera recipe! Because of its natural base, it can be custom blended with Rosveda’s Skinelle oil or almond oil as a rich nourisher for parched feet, hands or sun damage.

Simone Mahler

A rather posh beauty salon brand, newly arrived from Germany. I liked this one too. It penetrates quickly due to its creamy but feather-light texture. I found it effective in the lasting hydration department so will put back moisture into drier body areas. Contains peach extract, which helps to soothe and nourish skin. Has a soft feminine fragrance and is very agreeable to use.

Nivea Q10 Skin Firming Moisturiser

How could I not mention this world famous household name, which is always reliably consistent? The texture of this is similar to Nivea Body lotion ‘light’ in the white bottle, namely, perfect! You know you’re going to win with these two lotions, not too watery, not too greasy, good moisturising and hydrating effects, nice feel on the skin. Great for body, feet and hands and the Q10 has excellent skin firming properties. Thumbs up for this too.
