Police smash car theft ring

LIMASSOL police have busted a gang of criminals who have stolen dozens of cars around the country with the aim of dismantling them and smuggling the parts abroad.
Police said yesterday they had arrested four men, two of them from Bangladesh, one from Jordan and the other a Palestinian.

Civil servants seek pay for August strike days

CIVIL servants seconded to the Commission for the Protection of Competition (CPC) are seeking compensation for the month of August, during which they were officially on strike.

Work at the CPC ground to a halt in early July, when employees walked out, complaining that their boss Giorgos Christofides was spying on them.
