I can’t save the world by myself

Sir,

A headline last week read, “Floods and heat may abound but is it global warming?”
I applaud the person leading this team at Oxford University for taking such an opposing stance towards the rest of the world and just investigating to see if global warming is real. However, I fear that people are missing the whole point of this battle against global warming.

When has our species ever worked against a greater good? It’s just not logical for people to be ignoring the fact that we can make the world a better place just by being a little bit more conscious. Battling global warming has many benefits: saving money on electricity bills, petrol bills, becoming more efficient, more moral human beings. But it’s funny how we embrace destruction and turn away at creation. People just don’t care, electricity bills are higher than ever due to our relentless use of the air conditioner, even leaving them on all night and day just so that the rooms we stay in are cool for us when we return. It’s disgusting.

I am doing my part but I alone cannot save the Earth you are living on. Why aren’t you doing your part?
