Dear Sir,

We read with interest a letter from Sonia and CJ Royer in the Sunday Mail’s June 17 edition entitled “We can relax again in Coral Bay”. After our recent trip to Paphos, we can tell readers the reason Coral Bay is quiet is because all the boats have moved to Corallia Beach.

My wife and I holidayed at the Corallia Beach Hotel Apartment from June 9 to 29.

We are from Germany and have been coming to Cyprus since 1983. When we first came four years ago, we chose Corallia because enjoy the quiet beachfront.

This quietness is now gone, as ships from Paphos harbour anchor in front of the hotel and make a lot of noise.

Specifically the Sea-Star had its running the engine for at least three hours and also had a loud performance from a singer. This happened every day and we were forced to hear the same stupid songs from same singer.

The captain of this ship certainly wasn’t thinking about the environment while leaving his running engine. All the guests of the hotel were very annoyed.

Surely the Paphos coast is large enough that ships can find places to anchor where no hotels are located.
