Cocktail of the week with Fabrizio Musorella

Bramble
The classic definition of a cocktail is an “iced drink made of spirits, bitters, flavouring and sugar”. In practice, this tends to be a base and a modifier, which is either bitters or another liqueur, fruit, carbonated drinks and/or fruit juice, is added. The reason why so many cocktails are based on gin is that what is required of the base is that it should have its own distinctive taste yet be able to blend with other flavours. Gin does that. The cocktail featured today is a modern classic, with a luscious flavor of blackberry and lime, balanced by the sugar and the blackberry liqueur. Salute!
Ingredients
5cl gin
4 blackberries
3cl fresh lime juice
1 tsp caster sugar
Dash Cr?me de Mure (blackberry liqueur)
