Drink driving blamed for one in four road deaths

DRINK driving is to blame for almost one in four road deaths in Cyprus, the seventh highest rate in the European Union, according to the latest report by the European Transport Safety Council (ETSC), released yesterday.

The new study under the ETSC’s Road Safety Performance Index (PIN) showed that improvements in drink driving contribute significantly to enhancing road safety.

Man dies of bike injuries

A 23-YEAR-old Limassol man who was seriously injured in a road accident just over two weeks ago died yesterday, police said.

British mother charged with 138 counts of theft and fraud

A BRITISH woman, arrested on suspicion of being part of fraud ring, has been charged with 138 counts of theft and credit card fraud.

On Monday, Kate Louise Boud, 24 from Islington in London, was charged at the Nicosia District Court with the theft of around £4,000 from various bank accounts around Nicosia earlier this month.
