Port strike looms

PORT Authority workers yesterday called for a 24-hour strike on March 13 over pensions.

They also warned they could strike indefinitely from March 20 if the relevant authorities are not interested in resolving the outstanding issue. The decision was taken at a general assembly of port workers from both Limassol and Larnaca ports. The workers say the semi-government Ports Authority owes £50 million to their pension fund.
