What’s wrong with two states?

Sir,

Since 1974, there has been virtual peace between the two communities on the island. As a whole, most Cypriots do not want to live with each other but they do want friendly relations. The reality is there are two states on the island, South Cyprus, which has an area of 2277 sq miles, and North Cyprus, an area of 1295 sq miles, combined total of 3572 sq miles which is the whole of Cyprus.
Has anyone ever bothered to look at a map of Korea; there are two states there, there are two states on the island of Hispaniola, Haiti and the Dominican Republic, there are two states on the island of Timor, remember East Timor that became a state?
The Turkish Cypriots must lobby harder, particularly among the Islamic world, in getting their state to be internationally recognised. The Greek Cypriot side must also change its flag, the current flag does not reflect all Cypriots nor the reality on the ground, that Cyprus is not united. Could I suggest a blue and white flag because those are the colours most Greek Cypriots use.
