Man dies after fall

A 23-YEAR-OLD man yesterday fell to his death in a tragic accident after losing his balance on a balcony.

According to state radio, Marios Bartastoglu, who had been institutionalised at the Ariadne Mental Clinic in Nicosia for the past three-and-a-half years, was smoking on a second-floor balcony when he apparently lost his balance as he leaned over a railing to throw away a cigarette butt.

The police released a statement saying his body was discovered on the north side of the building at 7.30am, with the initial autopsy results showing the cause of death to have been caused by the fall.
