Holidays without water, thanks to the Paphos Water Board

I am extremely upset with our Water Board in Paphos. I have an apartment in Kato Paphos that I let on a long term basis; my tenant called me on Friday December 22nd and complained that there was no water.

I rushed to the water board to see what the problem was, it was 12.30pm and they had just closed for the long weekend.

Killed by a drunk driver on New Year’s day

A YOUNG man was killed in the early hours of New Year’s Day when a drunk driver swerved off the road, striking the man and his girlfriend, and then fleeing the scene.

The 17-year-old victim, Georgios Mavrikios, is the son of CyBC General Director Marios Mavrikios.

Pensioner killed in gas heater blaze

AN 86-year-old woman burned to death on New Year’s Eve when the gas heater she was using to keep warm burst into flames in her home.

The flames destroyed everything in Kleoniki Georgiou’s home in Korfi, in the Limassol district, except for a large wooden cross, which somehow survived the high temperatures.

Twenty-two-year-old George Anastasis was killed on the Avdellerou-Aradippou road at 4.20pm yesterday.
