Mayoral elections: the close calls

SUNDAY’S MUNICIPAL elections noted a number of close calls among mayoral candidates, with some securing the top job with as little as three votes difference.
Specifically in Athienou Spyros Papouis secured 1,386 votes beating his rival Costas Siakkalo by just three votes.

In Aglandjia Andreas Petrou beat Panicos Pengas by nine votes and in Yermasoyia Andreas Gavrielides got 10 votes more than Panicos Louroutziatis.

Paphos district’s Polis Chrysochous mayor Angelos Georgiou Odysseos managed to get 378 votes, 10 votes ahead of rival Elias Myrianthous and 24 votes ahead of Andreas Stefanou.
In Pano Lefkara Andreas Sosilos beat Themis Rouvis by 11 votes and in Dhali Leontios Kallenos beat Andreas Vassiliou by 13 votes.

Akanthou was another close call with Savvas Savvides getting 13 votes more than Soteris Loizia.
Finally in Yeroskipou Tassos Kouzoupos got 70 more votes than Andreas Siikki and in Lakatamia Loucas Iatrou beat rival Christakis Violari by 102 votes.
