Virtus Bologna take revenge for Limassol loss

VIRTUS BOLOGNA overcame the long injury list to defeat DTL EKA AEL with a 96-75 victory as Dusan Vukcevic scored 19 points and in the sixth round of the FIBA EuroCup Group H on Tuesday night.

DTL EKA AEL’s Zydrunas Urbonas netted 11 out of the 12 first quarter free throws as his team clearly struggled to stay in the game, scoring almost all of their points from the foul line.

The second period started with the teams tied at 24-24, but the hosts created a 12-0 run and there was no way back for the Limassol side.

Travis Best and Guilherme Giovannoni each had 16 points for the joint leaders of Italy’s Lega A, Virtus Bologna.

Zydrunas Urbonas poured in a game-high 28 points, while Jeron Roberts and Milutin Aleksic added 15 and 10 respectively.
