I could not agree more. It seems to be accepted in Cypriot society that it’s OK to be late for every appointment or arrangement and people actually expect others to wait for them without complaint.

TWENTY pedestrians die every year on the road, according to official figures released yesterday by the Nicosia Police Department.

According to Nicosia Police Chief Christos Dionysiou, in the last five years, 97 pedestrians lost their lives while 1,422 were injured. Thirty of these road deaths occurred in the Nicosia district.

14 pupils face prosecution over school brawl

FOURTEEN students from two Nicosia secondary school involved in a thwarted brawl with pupils of another school have been arrested and will face prosecution.
