A TOTAL no-show by Greek Cypriot politicians, party leaders and Cabinet ministers at an official event last Friday at the Ledra Palace to mark UN Day is confounding the diplomatic community and members of the public who did attend.

EU declares zivania uniquely Cypriot

IT MIGHT only be considered potable by Cypriots but now it’s officially ours.
The EU yesterday designated the Cypriot national alcoholic beverage zivania as a protected product, not only within the EU but also as regards third countries.

This means that no one within the EU or outside can make zivania and call it that.

Murder weapon found in Panteli case

LIMASSOL police yesterday located the gun they believed was used to murder 41-year old Roulla Panteli.

The gun, a Magnum, with eight bullets in the cartridge, were found in a while plastic bag with a stone placed on top in a field off the Limassol-Fasoulas road.
