Orphanides
Whether you have a hubby that’s an overenthusiastic football junkie or a son that refuses to get up in time for school, this could be a great gift idea. OK, so there’s nothing tremendously interesting about this specific alarm clock but the ring isn’t that bad and it’s cute and ideal for the likes of the above. Plus it’s so cheap, there’s absolutely nothing to lose.

Marks and Spencer Home
Ah, the traditional and ever so classic alarm clock. Nothing can beat the sound of chunky metallic bells banging against each other in the morning. I probably shouldn’t be making fun because this is actually the only successful way of assuring you’re up in time and excuse me but isn’t that the point? If you’re not into any modern futuristic designs, then I suggest you pop into Marks and Spencer Home.

Habitat
Regardless of the unreasonable price, which I suppose would suit anyone who is looking for a swanky alarm clock, please keep in mind that this was designed by Lennox Lewis himself. As part of the VIP collection (Very Important Products), this alarm clock is equipped with something more than just a cute ring; you can get temperature readings and the date. Made out of glass, plastic and acrylic, go for it if money is not an issue.

Pop Life
Looks like a nursery toy, doesn’t it? Something you would give a child and expect the vibrant colours to make it interesting enough. But guess what? It isn’t! It’s an alarm clock and no matter how hard I looked on the leaflets, I couldn’t find one reason to justify the look of this thing. But don’t get me wrong, I think it’s cute and it actually does more than other toys, i.e it has an alarm clock. But why would a child want to wake up to a morning talk show? Oh well!

A friend of mine jokingly told me to check www.alarmclocks.com when I told her I on the look out. Turns out people, there is such a thing but I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised. Anyway, there’s 128 different styles to chose from ranging from vintage to medical and classic retro to those for the hearing impaired. You’re bound to find exactly what you’re looking for even if that is an animal alarm clock that wakes you up to the neigh of a horse, the moo of a cow, a crow of a rooster or a squeal of a pig!

I got so carried away when I came across these Disney clocks, I almost bought one (I actually began drawing out lists in my mind of people with kids who would love an early Christmas present). Perhaps the most ideal alarm clock for children although a quick surf on the net, shocked me: collector’s items, people actually collect them! Anyway, they’re available in small versions and bigger ones and in Mickey Mouse, Cinderella, Winnie the Pooh and Minnie Mouse. Great stuff!
