Proud of British foreign policy

Sir,

Paul Hunter (‘Blair’s foreign policy to blame for terror threat’, August 27) has missed out a few little parts from his letter.
He forgot to mention who started these invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq and why? All these happened after the 9/11 attacks on America, in which over 3,000 people. Has this slipped his mind? This was an act of war and the people deserve what they get.
As to countries like Greece and Cyprus never having similar problems, have you forgotten 1974, when Greece’s foreign policy got involved with Cyprus and we all know what happened next.
As to Mr Blair lying to his own people, I remember a certain Cyprus president crying on TV so his people would say ‘no’ to a united Cyprus and where has this left the country?
As for terror in the airports and bombings in London, doesn’t Paul Hunter remember that we have always had these problems from the IRA in the past; in case ha has forgotten, IRA stands for the Irish Republican Army, which used to blow up kids and anyone around at the time in any old town in the UK.
It’s very easy for the small countries to sit on the fence, but thank God the Brits and the Yanks got involved in the last two world wars.
Isn’t it funny though, all around the world, people all seem to put down and hate the Brits, yet they are all queuing up to try and live, work and stay in the UK. I never saw them queuing up to get into Iraq, did you?
English and proud
