Hand grenade explodes

A HAND grenade exploded outside the house of 48-year old Andris Christodoulou in Limassol’s Ayios Spiridonas area in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Police said evidence shows the bomb was a ‘message’ intended for the 48-year old’s son, Yiannaki Christodoulou, who is said to be a witness in the case of 28-year old Skevos Prodromou’s attempted murder on April 6 in the Kamariotissa area.

Police also reported that a few months ago another explosive device was found outside Christodoulou’s mother-in-law’s house in Trachoni.

The damages caused by the explosion to the house porch and aluminium front door, are yet to be estimated but scientific investigations will be carried out.
