A 43-YEAR-OLD Egyptian man was yesterday unable to contain his happiness after he received word that the Cypriot Embassy in Cairo had finally approved his Egyptian wife’s entry visa.

Cypriots worry about euro’s impact

Hand grenade explodes

A HAND grenade exploded outside the house of 48-year old Andris Christodoulou in Limassol’s Ayios Spiridonas area in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Car bomb

A BOMB destroyed the front part of a twin-cabin truck belonging to a 26-year old man at around 1:40 am yesterday morning in a Paphos village.

A police announcement said that after investigating the incident, it seems as though the bomb was placed between the windshield and the front bumper of the car, which was parked outside the man’s house.

Summer camp brings youth together

A CYPRIOT youth camp which finished its activities yesterday brought together 113 young people, aged 12-16 from all communities across the island.

The Doves Olympic Movement, which is part of UNDP’s initiative, Action for Cooperation and Trust (ACT) in Cyprus, organised the nine-day camp in the village of Agros.

The Greenpeace vessel Rainbow Warrior is not, as reported yesterday, travelling to Lebanon from Cyprus to assist with the cleanup of the oil slick but rather only to deliver medicines to the humanitarian aid group Medecins Sans Frontiers (MSF).
