Cocktail of the week with Fabrizio Musorella

Batida (Bah-chee-da)

You’ve probably come across Cacha?a (pronounced Kah-Shah-Sah), which is a type of rough rum, from the well-known Caipirinha cocktail served in a tumbler with crushed ice, crushed lime wedges and sugar. My cocktail below is an example of another traditional Brazilian way to serve cacha?a. It is a workingman’s drink and can be made with any fruit. Cacha?a is the spirit of Brazil. Salute!
Ingredients
4cl Cacha?a
1cl sugar syrup
2cl fresh lemon juice
5cl fresh fruit juice of your choice
Preparation
Blend all the ingredients into a blender. Strain into a Highball glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with fresh fruit. Serve with straw.
