BBC World highlighting Cyprus tourism

BBC WORLD, the BBC’s international news and information television channel, will be coming to Cyprus this month to produce a special feature on Cyprus tourism.

The feature will be produced by the BBC World programme FASTTRACK, a weekly global round-up of travel news for leisure and business sectors.

On Friday, July 21, FASTTRACK’s presenter, Ahktar Khan, will be speaking at the Holiday Inn in Nicosia at a conference put on by the Cyprus Hotel Association. FASTTRACK’s team will be in Cyprus during that time preparing the programme about Cyprus tourism.

The collaboration between the Cyprus Hotel Association and BBC World is taking place, according to the Cyprus Hotel Association, “within the framework of the continuous efforts of the Association for the improvement of the educational events offered to its members, but also as part of the festivities celebrating its 70th anniversary”.

BBC World broadcasts in English 24 hours a day and can be viewed in 270 million homes in more than 200 countries and territories. It is also available in 2.36 million hotel rooms, 35 airlines, and 40 cruise liners.

The 12th Annual World Travel Awards in November 2005 declared BBC World the leading TV Channel for travelers
