Woman dies of suspected drug overdose

LARNACA police were yesterday investigating the death of a 26-year-old Polish woman found in her apartment from a suspected drug overdose.

The authorities’ inquiries uncovered the woman was a heavy drinker and mixed with known drug users.

State pathologist Eleni Antoniou said although the woman’s body showed no external marks of drug use, she could not rule out narcotics had been taken some other way.
“Cause of death was from a pulmonary edema which could have been caused by a drug overdose. We took samples for toxicological tests and will no more when the results come back,” she told the Cyprus Mail.
