When you are protecting yourself from the sun there is no need to use harmful chemicals
Chemicals in some sun-protection products can cause skin sensitivities or allergies that can lead to pigmentation? And if you suffer from problems like eczema and psoriasis or you have sensitive skin, the more natural the products you apply to your face or body the better. If a product stings when you apply it then it might be a good idea to stop using it. Even normally calm skin can become quite sensitive or reactive in the summer, especially when exposed for longer periods to the extreme heat and UV rays as the blood capillaries just under the skin become dilated, rendering the skin more receptive to temperature, products applied and the sun’s rays. Stick to milder products such as alcohol-free, soothing toners, gentler face washes and cooling, soothing face and body creams. It would be prudent to avoid highly perfumed and chemically loaded products when sunbathing or even going about a daily routine while it is so hot and sunny.
Using natural or organic sun care is a great idea as the chemicals in traditional products are notorious for causing problems, especially if the SPF is high. The SPF in naturally formulated products tends not to go very high, as then stronger chemicals are needed to help block out the sun’s rays. Many skin specialists believe that high SPFs are not necessary, as it is better to re-apply a product of up to 30 SPF more frequently.

The suncare products in this range contain water melon, which helps to soothe and repair UV stress and prevent photo-ageing. Protection from UVA, UVB and Infra Red is supplied by titanium dioxide and shea butter. Facial protection comes with SPF 20 or 30, body protection with SPF 15 or 20 which contain sweet orange extract to accelerate and reinforce the protective role of melanin, and finally an SPF 4 product with a luxurious feeling; a vegetable-based oil for sun worshippers who do not need high protection as they already have a tan and wish to develop it.
The brand’s Aloe Vera After Sun lotion offers gentle and deeply moisturising properties to body skin and helps relieve mild sun burn. This British brand uses organic ingredients and no synthetic or harmful chemicals. Sun Lotion comes with an SPF of 22 for body, Intensive Sun Cream SPF 15 for face or exposed areas, and Organic Babies, for… babies! (and young children).
