What is it supposed to do?
Bio-Phyto peeling complex exfoliates and deep cleans the skin. The green apple treatment applied after this, moisturises and nourishes the face with numerous vitamins and minerals. Skin will be left smoother, healthier, and positively glowing.
What benefits does it claim?
Bio-Phyto peeling, based solely on pure botanicals, is meant for general care of the skin, and actually performs six simultaneous actions. The chilli oil, mustard extract, and vitamin B12 in the complex act to enhance blood flow on the skin’s surface. The mint and hamamelis extract contracts the pores and cools the skin, while crystal minerals gently exfoliate, and the eucalyptus oil acts as an anti-bacterial agent.
Beauty consultant Karina Ammar explains, “there are so many wonderful herbs in this treatment that are good for the skin, meaning that it effectively removes dead skin cells and toxins, and strengthens the skin’s barrier against external aggressors. This is extremely important in Cyprus with the strong sun rays constantly damaging our faces”.
The green apple treatment applied after the Bio-Phyto peeling, gives skin the hydration it needs without adding excess oil. It’s an ultra-nourishing moisture mask that blends soothing botanicals and unique hydrating agents to revitalise, refresh and renew stressed skin.
Is there any science behind it?
Bio-Phyto peeling is one of the most efficient tools in the treatment of a large variety of skin problems. Oily and problem skin benefits from it as it disinfects and enhances the blood flow, soothing and tightening the skin. If you suffer from Seborrhoea (skin inflammation in area of over-active sebaceous glands), the vitamins A, B, C and E, as well as beta acid in the complex, soothe the skin and improve the complexion. Couperose skin (where redness appears due to small, dilated blood vessels on the face) benefits as it unifies the distribution of blood in the vessels, and if you have pale and hypnotic skin, it enhances the blood flow and strengthens elasticity. The green apple treatment contains apple-derived, alpha-hydroxy fruit acids, which are scientifically proven to refine skin texture as it combats visible signs of aging.
What is it like?
To ensure I felt completely relaxed, Karina dimmed the lights as I lay down and covered my body for warmth, as soft and calming music played in the background. My skin was then examined in order to determine exactly how it should be dealt with, and how long the treatment needed to be left on for. It was decided that the Bio-Phyto peeling treatment would be left on for 7 to 10 minutes, and explained that for the first three minutes I would feel a burning sensation as the blood vessels dilate, and blood supply to the skin increases. The sensation was actually quite nice as I felt that my skin was really being deep cleaned. After about three minutes, the skin cools as the mask dries and the blood vessels contract. This combination promotes a slightly tingly feeling, and enhances the healthy appearance of the skin.
As the mask was washed off, I was sprayed with Artemisia active water which felt soothing and refreshing after the mask. Karina then began to massage my face with sea-marine extract. I never realised a face massage could feel so good! Apart from using hands to promote circulation, crystal sticks were run over my skin to relax the nerve system, which was a lovely sensation on my face. Crystal globes filled with water inside were then used for lympho-drainage, getting rid of excess toxins. After this deeply-relaxing massage, the creamy green apple treatment was applied, and I was left to rest as stress and tiredness faded away.
When the mask was removed, my skin felt baby soft and I was really glowing. I looked extremely healthy and it felt great to know that all-natural products had been used for this facial. Almost everyone told me that my skin looked lovely for days to come!
