Wood Green boy charged in stabbing

A TEENAGER has been charged with stabbing a Cypriot store supervisor who confronted a gang of suspected shoplifters.

Rudy Takkou, 19, almost bled to death after being knifed repeatedly inside Wood Green Shopping City last Wednesday.

A 17-year boy from Wood Green appeared before Highgate magistrates yesterday accused of wounding with intent.

Two more youths, 17 and 16, have been bailed until August.

Takkou was attacked after challenging a group suspected of stealing from the store. He was knifed seven times in a vicious assault.

He almost bled to death but has since made a remarkable recovery and was discharged from hospital on Tuesday.

His mother Maria, 47, said: “It was touch and go. Young people should not be carrying knives.” (ES)
