Cocktail of the week with Fabrizio Musorella

Abbey (classic)

If you’re going to make cocktails this summer it’s always best to use quality ingredients both for spirits and juices. For instance, in a Margarita or a Daiquiri not using fresh lime juice can effect the balance of the final drink. To create the right impressions you should have bottles on show and use brands that your guests will recognise, rather than unknown spirits picked up at a discount store. The necessary spirits to satisfy the majority of your requests should be a bottle of gin, vodka, rum, tequila, vermouth, a good selection of juices and soft drinks, bitters such as angostura and a selection of liquors to add flavor to the night. Now what are you waiting for? Get mixing and salute!

Ingredients
4cl gin
3cl fresh orange juice
2cl Maraschino liqueur
1cl dry Vermouth
Dash of angostura

Preparation
Pour all the ingredients into a shaker filled with ice. Shake. Strain into a chilled Martini glass. Garnish with maraschino cherry.
