ALITHIA: “EU veto Cyprus Airways”. It is not looking good for Cyprus Airways after, EU commissioner for Transport Jacque Bareau’s speech in Brussels where he expressed doubts about the rescue plan to save the airline, saying that the plan may be incompatible with the European laws and regulations.

MACHI: “Late gift for pensioners”. Pensioners and older folk, people with disabilities, the enclaved and people with economic problems will be receiving their government allowance after the Easter holidays because at it seems the cheques and deliveries are being delayed. As a result of this delay, the people who really need these allowances will not be able to use them for the Easter dinner preparations.

After the report for unfair treatment at the Nicosia Sewage Council, the Offers Review Authority has declined and forbidden the deal for £10 million pounds by a bidder for the completion of the seven pipe lines that were supposed to be created in Nicosia. The pipe lines were supposed to lead all the sewage from Nicosia to the processing factories in Anthoupoli and Vathia Yonia.

According to the newspaper, Ankara is examining the possibility to appeal to international authorities to avoid opening its ports and airports to Cypriot ships and airplanes. This act by the Turkish government only shows that they are trying to buy time and avoid the postponement of the negotiations for their entry into the EU.

AKEL party Secretary General Demetris Christofias stated, while presenting the party’s running candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections, that the entire party is run by an anthropocentric perception and characterised by tits people friendly decisions adding that the party, and all its members, always has the common man and the good of the country as a priority.
