Two charged with assaulting police officers

TWO men yesterday pleaded not guilty to charges of assaulting two police officers in Nicosia.

Moric Badi from Lebanon and his Indian friend Sadeep Khan were charged with assaulting two police officers almost two weeks ago. Badi was charged with five counts of assaulting two police officers, threatening an officer of the law by telling him, “I will kill you, you w****r!” and causing £70 worth of damage to a police vehicle. Sadeep, who bore a bruised eye and is currently a college student in Nicosia, was charged with three counts of assaulting two police officers.

The prosecution noted that both police officers had sustained injuries from the alleged attack.

Both men pleaded not guilty to all the charges against them.
