Wanted men turn themselves in

A 40-YEAR-OLD man who was wanted by Paphos police turned himself in late on Wednesday night, along with a 39-year-old accomplice.

The 40-year-old man, wanted in connection with a series of drug offences, refused to obey orders to stop his vehicle when police moved in to arrest him outside his home in Yeroskipou on Tuesday and instead sped up and escaped, running over a Drug Squad officer in his path.

Police had discovered the man’s car outside the old Paphos military boot camp in Yeroskipou and began a nationwide manhunt to find them. Seemingly with nowhere to run, the 40-year-old and the 39-year-old eventually turned themselves in a Paphos police station.

The officer who was run over is currently under observation at Paphos General Hospital, where doctors have said he is in a serious but not life-threatening condition.
