Look and feel fabulous in your LBD this Christmas…
If you’re looking for something to wear to the inevitable Christmas party, here’s some tips on what to buy

The Christmas season is upon us and like most women you’re probably digging around in your wardrobe for your favourite little black dress, with a niggling doubt at the back of your mind that that it may feel a little more snug than last year. Although purple, gold, silver and dark green are also winners, black is definitely back and will never really go away for this time of year.

As well as the favourite bits of our bodies, we also have areas that we are not so keen on – some of us love our legs but aren’t so happy with our prominent bottoms and some of us are keen for our upper arms to remain under wraps!
Here are a few tips to help you discover which LBD style makes the most of your body shape…

Posture Good posture could make you appear a dress-size smaller. Make sure you stand tall, with your shoulders back and your stomach held in.

Wear the right underwear Support underwear can streamline your look by flattening a rounded tummy and making a saggy bottom perkier. Also, make sure that you wear underwear that is appropriate for your dress – there is nothing more unsightly than bra straps showing (especially those tacky see-through things) or VPL.

High heels A pair of gorgeous shoes with a heel, even if it’s just an inch or two, will make a dramatic difference to your overall silhouette. Heels will elongate your legs and encourage you to walk tall – so you’ll look slim and sexy.

Buy the right size Something that I see very often when I’m out, is women squeezing into a dress that is a size too small. This will only make you look bigger than you actually are. A size 12 in one shop may not be the same as a size 12 in another, so try on different sizes until you find the perfect fit for you.

Accessories Jewellery, bags and scarves can change the look of your LBD and give it a new look for each occasion.

Big Breasts
This dress separates and divides the breasts and the v-neckline helps to break up the expanse of the chest.

Large Tummy
An empire-line dress is a great solution when it comes to a large stomach as all the focus is directed towards the bust area. This one is great for flabby arms too…

Small breasts
Wearing a dress with either ruffles or gathered material around the breast area is a quick and effective way to increase the appearance of your bust by up to one cup size.

Saddlebags
Opt for an A-line dress like this one, either long or short, which will glide over the hips. Remember – it should skim and not cling.

All LBD’s from www.net-a-porter.com but there are many similar shapes on the high street. Happy shopping…
