Body discovered

PAPHOS police were yesterday trying to identify the badly decomposed body of a man found seated in a chair in an abandoned shopping centre on Posidonos street in Kato Paphos. According to forensic officials, the man, believed to be in his forties, was discovered in a sitting position on a chair surrounded by bottles and cans of liquor.

Former AG Triantafyllides dies

FORMER Attorney General and head of the Supreme Court Michalakis Triantafyllides died yesterday morning aged 78.

Triantafyllides was born in Nicosia in 1927. After graduating from the Pancyprian Gymnasium, he studied Law at Gray`s Inn in London, and graduated in 1948.

English School organises trip to the north

THE ENGLISH School in Nicosia has arranged an educational trip to northern Cyprus and pupils can, attend provided they have their parents’ consent.

The trip, planned for December 4, will be a journey into Mediaeval Cyprus. Pupils will get the chance to visit historical Cypriot monuments, such as Kyrenia castle.
