Collistar Ultra Brilliant Lip Gloss
If there’s one place that can always benefit from the mousturising properties of Aloe Vera, it has to be the lips. And while moisturising sticks are great, why not combine it with a colour to give a great shine to the lips as well. We found this product had good staying power and left the lips feeling creamy afterwards. The lip gloss also contains vitamins A and C in addition to a compound that actually reflects the light.

Organic Babies bath products
Green People’s range for children was developed for use even by those with eczma. The baby wash, baby lotion, conditioner, bath gel, lotion, sun lotion and toothpaste (in mint and mandarin flavours) all contain aloe vera, known for its soothing and cooling properties – just right for baby and mom then. We tried out the lotion and the bath gel. Both smelt pleasant, went a long way, the lotion was easily absorbed and left the skin feeling soft and fresh. A great brand for anyone worried about the effects of chemicals on their children.

Crabtree & Evelyn Aloe Vera shampoo
If you want your hair to feel as soft as that of your baby, this is a great product. Lathering up easily it leaves the hair feeling soft and renewed. This gentle shampoo is infused with the scents of lavender, herbs and roses. According to the packaging, the aloe vera it is enriched with comes from the innermost leaves of the plant. The range also includes soaps, hand wash, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, body cr?me and powder.

Forever Living Aloe Vera Gel Drink
This gel drink can be taken for a range of complaints, including a stomach ulcer. Although the taste took a bit of getting used to, the benefits became obvious after two weeks of taking the liquid mixed in water twice a day. This is an option that needs to be maintained but it really does work. It is not however a cure for ulcers, it’s something to use after medication has got the condition under control. Since taking the Aloe Vera drink I also felt much healthier and seem to have a lot more energy. Forever Living has a whole range of Aloe Vera based products, including a deodorant that we were also very keen on.

Roseveda Natural Aloe Gel
Not all Aloe Vera products are the same. To determine its quality, effectiveness and safety it is also important to look at what else is in the product as Aloe Vera can penetrate deep into the skin, taking with it beneficial and harmful products. The concentration of Aloe Vera is Roseveda is very high and the quality of this brand is such that it is suitable as a fine facial treatment gel as well as a soother for redness and mild irritations such as sunburn, after shaving. Also an excellent hydrator for oily ad acne-prone skins.

Green Tea with Aloe Vera
Green tea’s properties have been recognised for centuries and can help maintain the body’s delicate balance against stress and strain. The Clipper Organic Green Tea is grown naturally at over 9,000 feet in the nationally protected Bhavani Hills, a region of India. The delicate flavour and light golden colour of this organic green tea is due to the slow growing China tea plant. To this superb tea, organically grown aloe vera is then added.

Aloe-Life Natural Skin Healing Cream
This cream contains 75 per cent Aloe Barbadensis leaf extract gel. The stabilised Aloe Vera is helpful in alleviating skin conditions such as minor burns, sunburn, non-poisonous insect bites and stings. Plus, of course, chafed skin and lips, which are more common.
