Denkash was angel compared to Talat

GOVERNMENT Spokesman Kypros Chrysostomides accused Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat of “negligence and political audacity” yesterday, adding that Rauf Denktash was an “angel compared to today’s leadership”.

Chrysostomides’ comments follow Talat’s meeting with French Senator Louis De Pensec, in which the Turkish Cypriot leader is reported to have said that one solution to the Cyprus problem would be to replace barbed wire partitions with walls, like in Israel.

According to Chrysostomides, De Pensec pointed out that this entails “horrible symbolism”.

“Talat’s politics are immoral”, commented Chrysostomides.
