A visionary energy policy

Sir,
The government has just revealed its 100-year energy policy! Wow, we will have something else to discuss about other than the Cyprus problem in the long term too.
Multi million pound LNG and LPG and other hydrocarbon based fuel dumps will not only mean we will secure our energy needs, there are a multitude of other benefits from this as well.

A. Loads of money to all the people who have land in the area, and job creation for them, where they will be able to use the money to pay for all the medical costs for cancer treatments of various kinds associated with burning fossil fuels.

B.  Loads of money for all the people who will be holding us hostage with their fossil fuel sources for generations to come.

C. Loads of money for all the foreign industries that will be selling us obsolete technology (i.e. hydrocarbon burning electricity generating power plants)
D. Loads of money for all the companies which will be employed to “clean up” the environmental catastrophe that will be the result of this project.

E. Loads of money for the security firms that will be guarding our precious energy reserves from terrorist threats.

F. Loads of money for all the companies that will BOT the operation, and then hand the facility over to the taxpayer (once its profitable and useful life has been exhausted)
And to be fair, they have mentioned that they will use alternatives to oil, such as LNG and LPG (which by the way are hydrocarbons), which will mean there will be something for the “tree huggers” too. All the extra carbon released by this Energy Centre will mean more carbon dioxide (amongst other pollutants) for all the trees!
Loads of money: Loads of your tax money, which would otherwise be wasted by being invested in renewable, non polluting energy sources.

A round of applause is well overdue!
