To feta or not to feta

Sir,
In reference to your article of October 27 under the headline “Sorry Cyprus, no feta for you), nothing is lost.

Remember the long (and continuing) quarrel about that unspeakable Balkan country? Yes, for all red-blooded Hellenes “The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”, FYROM for short?

Well, the unspeakable cheese could become the “Former Cypriot Feta cheese” (FCFC) – no more unwieldy than FYROM – and acceptable to all those autocrats in Brussels who, according to one writer, “mismanage just about everything, from the size of condoms to the shape of bananas”?

A. Borowiec, Nicosia

Sir
So the Euro-court has put its big fat foot in its mouth again. Wasn’t it bad enough having to have straighter bananas. Now your wonderful cheese has to change it’s name.

Well, how about “Pheta” or “Fetta”?
I expect they would find something wrong with that too.
