Limassol wine festival goes ahead

THE DOORS for the 44th annual wine festival in Limassol were opened last night. Initially it was decided that the festival be cancelled due to the fatal Helios Airways tragedy but eventually it was reduced by three days.

Following the decision of the Limassol municipality, the firework displays that were planned for the opening and closing ceremonies have been cancelled. The formal dinner and reception that had been planned by the mayor in honor of the festival were also postponed.
