Looking good with Ilia Georgiou

Summer attitude
There’s loads of new products out there that are just great for the hot weather
THERE are some gorgeous bronzing powders, gels and creams around but remember that less is more; there is no point in applying tan make up products to the face if your body is whiter. The point of these products is to give the face, neck and chest a healthy glow. You can apply some to the legs and arms to balance your skin tones. To complement your sun-kissed complexion use a transparent cream or powder eye shadow in neutral tones of bronze or sparkling beige. Balance this with a subtle, transparent lip colour or gloss.
Here are the products from some well-known make-up counters that caught my eye and are ideal for a bright summer day or evening look.

GIVENCHY
I spotted some great bronzing powder compacts which can be used as rouge.
Prism Again: compact powder quartet
Fantasy Gold no 06 has a slight shimmer and is for a darker effect or skin tone
Happy Sun no 05 is for a medium effect
Elegant beige no 03 for a more natural look or fairer skins
For eyes the Couture Brown no 05 is a great powder eye shadow for evening or, subtly applied around eyelashes, for a day look.
For lips Gold & Gloss is a compact of four very glossy and shimmer-effect lip tones.

YVES SAINT LAURENT
At this counter I found the gorgeous new Touche Briallante Sparkling Touch for the lips. They give a soft, subtle sparkle without the heavy look of a gloss and are in a felt pen form just like their Touche Eclat for the face, another must have product all the year round.
If you like a shiny rich lipstick with stronger pigment in it try the Rouge Pure Shine range of colours.
For a natural effect foundation try Teint Singulier or Teint De Jour.

LANCOME
Lancome have handy, Glossy Lip Nectar tubes with repairing and plumping effect as part of their Star Bronzer range. They have a nice soft feel and flattering tones which will suit most faces.
Their Colour Dose range of cream eye-shadow tubes have some interesting colours. These are quite pearly so should be applied as a singular colour.
The Colour Focus palettes, numbers 202, 238 and 201, are great powder shadows in beigy and pinky tones with a sparse effect glimmer and are best applied sparingly as a singular colour for a subtle summer sparkle effect all over eye-lids.

CHRISTIAN DIOR
Dior’s latest spring/summer range is called The Pink Attitude, which includes various shades of pretty soft pinks (surprisingly) and an eye-shadow compact with an amazing shade of bright green and very pale pastel type blue, pink and beigy-grey.
The Addict Ultra Shine lipsticks are perfect for summer due to their transparent glimmering and sexy, but subtle, effect.
Their So Cheek cream blushers give a subtle dewy glow to the cheeks.

CLINIQUE
The True Bronze range by Clinique has some rather gorgeous goodies. They have a great bronzing gel for giving the face a holiday look glow as well as a sparkly effect pressed powder bronzer for Hollywood glamour on face or body. A loose powder version is also available which is good for dusting the body with. Also in the range is shimmery compact powder number 01 for a glow effect complexion. Their Touch Tint for eyes are so easy and convenient to use as they come in tubes and have three colours that I particularly favour for summer, a gold, a shiny beige and pale shimmering brown.

EST?E LAUDER
Est?e Lauder always come up trumps with their innovative products and quality. I spent a whole hour at this counter as I wanted to try all their amazing new things. Due to restricted space I can’t mention all of them so here is just a small selection from their new Amber Bronze collection. I found the sales girl at Ermes in Ledra Street amazingly helpful and knowledgeable and a trip to their counter will reveal to you all the products I haven’t mentioned.
I was shown some great lip-tint balms for summer which, apparently, don’t melt even in these hot temperatures. Wow! A make-up artist’s dream when on location work in the summer.
Other gorgeous products in their summer range which impressed me are:
Sienna Earth bronzing compact, which has curvy striations of different toned powder within the product to give a more realistic tan colour rather than the orange tones of some other brands.
Air Bronzer brush which comprises a brush and powder dispenser all in one, and contains a gorgeous sparkly but subtle loose bronzing powder which is great for shoulders, legs, or cheeks.
Nomad Kits these make great gifts and contain a selection of cosmetics such as powder rouge/bronzer, eye shadow, lip-tint and brushes in their new gorgeous earthy desert tones.
Pure Colour eye-shadow cubes. The Gold Nugget is gorgeous and a great value buy as you will want to use it for so many different looks and seasons. Choc Chip and Tea-biscuit are two colours that I am never without for make-up jobs and look great summer or winter. Ginger Drop is another colour which I thought was cute for summer.

CHANEL
At Chanel I liked the bronzing powders. They also have some great eye shadows in rich bronzy brown or gold pinky tones which look great for a subtle sparkling look.
Their waterproof mascara is excellent and gives a natural look to the eyelashes.
Their brown and black eye pencils are excellent if you want the sexy smudged ethnic look.
The nail varnish Perle Rose no 65 is a great summer colour as it’s soft, neutral and flatters all skin tones.

SHISEIDO
Once a brand with a very avant-garde image and a favourite with session make-up artists for its unusual, innovative and strong colours, Shiseido is now much more user friendly and produces some lovely products.
I spotted some great cream eye shadows in pots. They come in four colours and are perfect for summer eyes. One of these is a great two tone colour (deep green-blue with pink-mauve) which is perfect for a sexy evening look.
They also have great cream blushers for a natural flushed look.
Their silky eye-shadow duos in numbers S1, S2 and C2 are good summers colours.

NIVEA
At the Nivea counter in Ermes I spotted soft blush in Terracotta no 20. It is a soft, peachy sepia tone which will flatter most skin colours.
Their Gloss Kiss range for lips impressed me because all the colours are in tones which will look good on any face or skin tone.
For the eyes Sienna no 817 is a dark brown and yellow-beige eye shadow which will be useful for lots of eye looks.
