A perfect chance to get outdoors

THE KITE and Extreme Sports Festival is set to take place on May 7 and 8 at Marine Beach next to the St Raphael Hotel in Limassol.

Organisers say the two-day event, in aid of the British Wireless for the Blind Fund and Parekklishia School, will cater for most, if not all, of the extreme sports facilities available in Cyprus and will bring together all the major distributors on the island with more than 30 exhibitors attending.

The Cyprus Jet Ski Association has also chosen the event to hold the official European Championship heats on May 8. The schedule will see two of the top jet-skiers putting on a display of their exceptional skills.

The festival has been organised by BFC Trading Post Limited and the Kite KO Company.

In addition to supporting Wireless for the Blind and the children of Parekklishia, the organisers believe the event is also an ideal opportunity to promote Cyprus as the perfect holiday destination for extreme sports enthusiasts. The climate and landscape of the island provide the ideal setting for extreme sports and it is hoped the event will become an annual one.

This will be the largest event of its kind to take place on the island and will have something to offer everyone. Entrance will be free with ample parking facilities. Food and drink will be available throughout the day with a barbecue and musical entertainment on the beach in the evening with a Robbie Williams tribute along with supporting singers.

Babysitting facilities will be available and will be manned by experienced child minders throughout the day.
