Weekend attacks on schools

POLICE ARE investigating a spate of vandal attacks and burglaries on schools over the weekend, they said yesterday. One attack happened at a primary school in Aglandja where desks and other furniture were trashed by vandals and items worth £1,387 were stolen, including three computers and several musical instruments.

A primary school in Pallouriotissa was also broken into and a computer stolen, and in Kato Polemidhia a kindergarten was burgled and another computer worth £300 was taken.

In Strovolos, a Lyceum was set on fire to and in Larnaca vandals smashed the windows of another Lyceum. More damaged was caused at a Gymnasium in Latsia where the culprits sprayed walls with graffiti and damaged the walls.
