MYRRA TAVERN
Good grilling
In a residential area of Paphos a family home doubles as one of the best meze houses in town

The Wine Guy

Rosés are red…
If you don’t like rose, perhaps you should try some more
WELL, they are not quite red. What prompts me to write about this subject is the recollection of a recent discussion I had with friends, about rosés. I ended the discussion like this “If you think you don’t like rosé, you just haven’t tried enough of them”.

Avocado delights
There’s more to the avocado than guacamole
Avocados are a good source of monounsaturated fat, which helps balance cholesterol levels as well as helping in the battle against heart disease. Avocados also contain several cancer-fighting substances. Half an avocado counts as one serving of fruit or vegetables, but with a lot more calories than most

What a week…

Air on a G String
What has come over men? There seems to be an underwear revolution taking place
IN THE old days it used to be called the G-string, which only managed to magnify in the minds of nervous classical guitarists the fear of imminent chafing.

Stark contrasts

Take seven: cigars

It’s believed that the tobacco plant, as we know it today, began growing in the Americas in around the year 6,000 BC.

The cigar was smoked throughout the islands of the Caribbean Sea and in Mesoamerica for centuries before Europeans discovered the Americas in the late 15th century. The word cigar is thought to originate from sikar, the ancient Mayan word for smoking.
