One road death every two days

ANOTHER life was lost on Cyprus’ roads on Sunday morning with 29-year-old Georgia Kyriakidou being the latest victim. The Larnaca woman was killed instantly on the Limassol–Paphos motorway, just outside the village of Paramali, after she lost control of her car and slammed into a concrete barrier at high speed. She has now become the eighth person to be killed on roads, just seventeen days into 2005.

Kyriakidou was on her way to the village of Mesogi to attend the memorial of her grandfather. The cause of the accident is still unknown.
