Keravnos’ woes deepen

AS IF managing the state’s tricky finances while juggling a controversial report on the Stock Exchange was not stressful enough, Finance Minister Makis Keravnos has lost his beloved pup.
Leon the collie featured in yesterday’s edition of Politis, alongside a description of the dog and a contact number and a plea for any information that could lead to his recovery.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Finance yesterday told the Cyprus Mail that the dog has not been found yet.

Leon is described as being a gold collie with a collar marked with the dog’s registration number ‘553’.

If anyone chances to see the dog, General Manager of the Cyprus Association for Protection and Care of Animals Keith Miller, told the Cyprus Mail that the first thing to do is call the Nicosia dog shelter and then report the dog to the police.

“Dogs do get stolen in Cyprus,” Miller said. “Especially this time of year. People usually steal dogs that can be used for hunting or dogs that they can sell.”
