I was not a guest of the Olympic Committee

Sir
In your issue of September 5, under the heading ‘Tales from the Coffee Shop’, Patroclos alleges that I was invited by the Cyprus Olympic Committee to attend the Olympic Games, as its guest.

As I have already warned you in the past, it seems that the capacity of Patroclos to understand what is going around him, or, what he is told by his informers, has been greatly impaired and he says things which never happened, exposing himself and your paper.

The truth is that I was never invited by the Cyprus Olympic Committee or anybody else to attend (as their guest or otherwise), and Patroclos seems to be imagining things.

Would you, therefore, put things right and inform your readers accordingly and warn Patroclos to be more careful in the future, because after so many warnings you may be jeopardised and perhaps incur pecuniary loss if he goes on pursuing this thoughtless behaviour.
