Two neighbours arrested in connection with woman’s murder

TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of murdering Lyudmila Zipir, 34 from Ukraine, who was found dead in her apartment in Limassol on Sunday.

Zipir was found by police after her employer called concerned at her failure to turn up for work on Saturday and Sunday.

Man held over double rape claim

A 33-YEAR-old Nicosia man was yesterday remanded in custody for six days on suspicion of raping two Slovak women on Saturday night.

The two women, aged 18 and 19, arrived in Cyprus on Friday night. They had come for Bratislava to work and were picked up on arrival by their employer. On Saturday night, he drove one to Protaras and the other to Ayia Napa to sell flowers.

Bi-communal movement seeks to play down fiasco over barring of former presidents

THE Morphou reunification movement yesterday denied media reports claiming that two former presidents had been prevented by the Turkish Cypriot authorities from attending a bi-communal function in Morphou.

Editorial – There is no rational reason to oppose casinos
