Napa booze cruise sets off from new harbour to avoid attention

THE Ayia Napa Fantasy Boat, which gained notoriety in recent days following allegations that orgies were taking place on board, chose a different departure point on Saturday to avoid unwanted attention from the media and the authorities, the Cyprus Mail has learned.

Despite the arrest on Friday of the owner of the boat, his son, and one employee, who were charged with arranging or acting in indecent acts in the public eye, it was business as usual on Saturday with the boat sailing from a small secluded bay in Ayia Triada near Protaras instead of the usual Ayia Napa marina.

And this time security guards were present at the jetty, searching people, probably for cameras, a source told the Cyprus Mail.

The revellers assembled at the Cocoa bar where they were collected by three buses at around 8.30pm, reaching the departure area at around 9pm.

At some point before leaving the bar, a loudspeaker urged the revellers to get “alcoholically relaxed”, the source said.

Owner and captain Christos Kremastos, 51, his son Loucas, 29, and 48-year-old employee Yiannis Ioannou were arrested on Friday night moments before the infamous boat sailed.

They were released on Saturday pending trial.

Police said they had in their possession photographs that left little room for doubt that participants were not only having good clean fun.

The crew have denied any wrongdoin, but the photographs and eyewitness accounts tell a different story.

“At first, it’s all good clean fun but then the water guns come out and people start squirting out vodka,” one tourist who went on the boat told the Cyprus Mail last week.
“People soon get really drunk, to the point where they will do just about anything.

“They put whipped cream on the men’s crotches and the women lick it off,” the witness said, adding he had seen acts of full oral sex on board.

Police said the boat party can continue its nightly trips as long as no indecent acts are performed.
