Euro info on the square

THE NICOSIA Municipality, in collaboration with the European Commission and the Cyprus Co-ordinating Office, will be handing out information pamphlets to the public today and tomorrow on Eleftheria Square. The aim of the campaign is to inform the public of Europe Direct, the EU’s free information service, as part of efforts to raise awareness about EU accession. The stall will be open from 10am-4pm today and 11am-5pm tomorrow.

Europe Direct was launched in Cyprus last Monday, making the island the first of the acceding countries to have access to the service.

Citizens can call freephone 00800 67891011 from anywhere in the EU, speak to an operator in any one of the EU’s official languages, and get the required information. People can find out about their rights and obligations within the EU or any other query they have related to EU membership. The centre is open from Monday to Friday between 9am and 6.30pm (Central European Time).
