CyBC’s Alpha deal a scandal

Monarch flight stops in Larnaca to offload unruly passenger

A MONARCH flight from Goa to Gatwick made an unscheduled landing at Larnaca airport on Sunday after an unruly passenger forced the captain to land. An announcement from the airline said the passenger was behaving in a disruptive manner. It said that the passenger, whose nationality was not specified, was handed over to police and that the flight continued on its way to the UK.

Turks arrested at Larnaca airport with fake papers

TWO TURKS, one Turkish Cypriot and one English Turk were arrested at Larnaca airport yesterday when they attempted to leave the island for England with false passports. The police took the four individuals to the police station where they were held overnight. They will be taken to Larnaca court today for a remand hearing.

Bases deny chemical weapons claim

THE BRITISH bases yesterday denied reports that they had been bringing in chemical weapons through Akrotiri. Several newspapers yesterday reported an increase in movement at RAF Akrotiri, including more personnel and equipment.
