Central Bank signs memorandum with Jordan

CENTRAL Bank Governor Christodoulos Christodoulou said yesterday a Mutual Agreement had been signed with the Central Bank of Jordan that covers the exchange of information in the field of banking supervision.

Christodoulou said the signing of the agreement with the Central Bank of Jordan became necessary due to the presence of four branches of Jordanian banks in Cyprus.
“The Central Bank of Cyprus pursues an active policy of signing Memoranda of Understanding for co-operation and exchange of information in the fields of its competence with respective overseas authorities,” he said.

Similar agreements have been singed with the Central Banks of Russia, Belarus, Yugoslavia, Romania, Latvia and Tanzania, while there are ongoing negotiations with another eleven overseas banking authorities for signing the agreement.
