Lufthansa to stage new ticket auction

LUFTHANSA has announced special Christmas fares to the US from Larnaca starting at £240 return plus taxes. The offer lasts until December 15.

A round trip to New York starts at £240, Boston and Chicago from £290, Atlanta, Houston and Philadelphia £325, and Los Angeles and San Francisco from £375.

The airline said that its online ticket auction system has become well-established in Cyprus. The next auction is set for November 26 at 9am to 6pm on November 27.

During the auction tickets will be offered to more than 20 destinations in Europe, the US and Canada. Bid prices start from £30-£50 depending on the destination. The tickets can be used for trips between December 1 and January 31, 2004.

More than 400 people took part in the last ticket auction in Cyprus on May 15 and May 16: all 45 tickets were sold at an average price of 50 per cent less than the standard fare. Details of the auction can be found at www.lufthansa.com.cy
