Revised tourism plan 'will be implemented'

PRESIDENT Tassos Papadopoulos yesterday unveiled plans to increase annual tourism revenue to 1.8 billion and arrivals to 3.5 million by 2010. The new vision is a revised version of the Cyprus Tourism Organisation’s (CTO) strategic plan, but with a new emphasis on implementation. The 2003-2010 plan for tourism was yesterday unanimously approved at a meeting of all partners in the tourism sector.

Woolworth signs up to open Debenhams store in Nicosia

WOOLWORTH in Cyprus has concluded a two-part agreement with UK department store Debenhams, the group’s commercial director confirmed yesterday. Fintan Straughan told the Cyprus Mail the first part of the agreement involved obtaining operating rights for operating and trading a full Debenhams store on the island. The company’s target is to open the shop’s doors in Nicosia in March 2004, he said.
